May 2026 marked an important milestone as the Istri Project officially launched in Kolkata, the City of Joy. During this foundational phase, the team — supported by Aahan Foundation — focused on understanding the local ecosystem, forging key partnerships, and introducing the LPG ironing solution to ironing Vyapaaris across the city. Early interactions have already yielded valuable insights that will shape a locally relevant and community-centered implementation strategy.

Looking ahead, Aahan Foundation and its partners will focus on expanding outreach, strengthening relationships with manufacturers and LPG distributors, and onboarding the first cohort of early adopters. Together, these efforts aim to improve access to cleaner technology while empowering ironing entrepreneurs to build more sustainable and profitable businesses.
